Why the estimates disagree

Two defensible answers exist to the question of what MrBeast is worth, and they are built from different things.

Forbes measures income. Its 2026 Top Creators list, published on 23 June 2026, put his earnings over the preceding year at about $300 million and ranked him first for a fifth consecutive year.

Net worth estimates measure assets, and they reach about $2.6 billion, almost entirely his stake in Beast Industries.

Neither is wrong. One asks what he earned. The other asks what he owns. For most salaried people the two numbers are close enough that the distinction never comes up. For a founder holding equity in a private company they are separated by roughly nine times.

The estimates move more than the business does

This is the part worth understanding before trusting any figure, including the ones in the table above.

Forbes has published its creator ranking five times, and its own estimate of his earnings has moved like this.

Forbes listReported earnings
2023About $82 million
2024About $85 million
2025About $85 million
2026About $300 million

The 2026 figure is roughly three and a half times the previous year's. Some of that reflects real growth in the business. Some of it reflects a change in what the estimate captures, since a methodology that counts profit distributions from private companies will move sharply when those companies start distributing.

He has also publicly rejected one of these numbers. When the $85 million figure appeared in June 2025, Donaldson responded on X that he was "99.9% sure they just make up numbers" and that the estimate was "just not even remotely accurate", as Dexerto reported.

So the honest position is that the most-cited figures come from outside estimates, the methods behind them measure different things, those methods produce results that jump by multiples year to year, and the subject has disputed at least one of them. Anyone publishing a single confident number is overstating what is known.

How much money does MrBeast actually have?

Jimmy Donaldson, who publishes as MrBeast, holds a majority stake in Beast Industries, the private holding company behind his channels, Feastables and Beast Games. His net worth is that ownership share multiplied by whatever the company is valued at. It is not a bank balance.

This matters more than it sounds. A private company valuation is a negotiated number. It reflects what a specific group of investors agreed to pay for a specific slice of the business at one moment, under terms that are rarely public. It is not an observed market price the way a share price is.

Three consequences follow.

His net worth can move by hundreds of millions without him earning or losing anything, because the valuation moved. He cannot convert that figure into cash without finding a buyer, agreeing a price and paying tax. And any published figure is an outsider's estimate of a number the company itself has not disclosed.

The most recent hard data point is not a valuation at all. In January 2026 Bitmine Immersion Technologies, a publicly listed company, invested $200 million into Beast Industries and disclosed it in a filing with the SEC. That filing confirms the amount, the date and the parties. It gives no valuation for Beast Industries, which is itself informative about how little of this is public.

Is MrBeast a billionaire?

Yes on the asset-based measure, and no in the sense most people mean.

His stake in Beast Industries is what carries the billionaire label, and the label is accurate as far as the estimates go.

His spending power looks nothing like it. He has said he has had to borrow money and did not have enough in his account to buy McDonald's, as Fortune reported. He kept his base in the Greenville house he bought for $318,000 in 2019.

Both things are true at once, and the apparent contradiction is just how private equity works. Paper wealth and liquid wealth are different quantities, and for founders of venture-backed companies they routinely differ by orders of magnitude.

How these estimates are calculated

Three methods produce the figures in circulation, and they are not equally reliable for someone in his position.

The income method counts verified earnings: advertising revenue, brand deals, profit distributions. It is conservative and auditable, and it is what Forbes uses. Its weakness is that it ignores asset value entirely, so a founder sitting on a large equity stake looks far poorer than they are. It is also the method he publicly disputed.

The asset method multiplies ownership share by company valuation. It captures the wealth the income method misses, but it inherits every assumption in the valuation. If the valuation is stale, optimistic, or based on terms that favour later investors over founders, the net worth figure carries that error forward.

The channel multiple method values a YouTube channel at roughly twelve to thirty-six times monthly advertising revenue, the approach channel brokers use when selling one. It is the weakest of the three here, because it values a channel rather than a diversified business, and the channel is the part of Beast Industries that has run at a loss.

For a founder whose wealth sits in private equity, the asset method answers the question most people are asking, provided the reader understands the answer is not cash. That is the figure this page leads with, and it is why the caveat sits beside it every time.

MrBeast's net worth over time

2023Forbes estimates annual earnings at about $82 million, ranking him first
2024Content division reported to lose about $80 million on roughly $246 million of revenue, while Feastables returns over $20 million profit on about $251 million in sales
June 2025Forbes estimates $85 million. He rejects the figure publicly

The trajectory took time. He spent six years uploading to almost nobody before the audience reached a size brands would pay for, and the company-level wealth came later still.

Where MrBeast's money comes from

Four sources account for the business, and the balance between them is not what most people assume.

YouTube advertising and brand sponsorships built the base and still fund production. Feastables, the snack brand, became the profitable part of the company. Beast Games, the Amazon series, runs at a scale that dwarfs the video business.

The detail worth knowing is that the videos have lost money. Across 2024 the content side ran at a substantial loss while the chocolate brand returned a profit on comparable revenue, as TechSpot reported. The content is the marketing. The consumer brand is the business.

For the detail, see what he earns in a year, and what a single upload earns against what it costs.

What could change the number

Four things would move the headline figure, and only one of them involves him earning more.

Feastables growth or decline changes the part of the company that actually makes money, and the valuation follows it. The content division reaching sustained profitability would change how investors price the group, because investors treat that loss as an acquisition cost. A liquidity event, whether a sale, a secondary or a public listing, would convert paper value into a real number and probably a smaller one after tax. A down round would cut the published net worth overnight without changing anything about the business he runs day to day.

That last point is the one worth holding onto. The figure is a valuation, and valuations move for reasons that have nothing to do with the person they are attached to.

How we estimate these figures

Net worth figures for private individuals are estimates, not disclosures. Beast Industries is privately held and does not publish accounts, so every number on this page is an outsider's reconstruction from regulatory filings, funding records, press reporting and public statements.

We date every figure and name its source. Where sources disagree, we say so rather than choosing the most impressive number. Where the subject has disputed a figure, we publish the dispute alongside it. We do not publish a number we cannot attribute, and we review this page on a fixed schedule rather than when a figure happens to change.

He is the wealthiest individual creator by the asset-based measure and the highest earning by Forbes' income measure, where his 2026 figure was roughly four and a half times that of the second-placed creator.
Because they use different methods. Income-based estimates count what he earned. Asset-based estimates count what he owns. Both are defensible, the gap between them is large, and none of them have access to the company's accounts.
