Beast Games added to that. After North Carolina updated its film incentive rules, the majority of a season was filmed in the state, across a Wilmington studio and sites in and around Greenville, with the production budgeted to spend tens of millions locally, as reported by Yahoo Entertainment.
An Amazon series filming in eastern North Carolina rather than Los Angeles is a direct consequence of one creator refusing to move.

She graduated from Stellenbosch University the same year with a law degree and an honours degree in psychology, then completed a master's in human cognitive neuropsychology at the University of Edinburgh in November 2024, according to the South China Morning Post.
They met through a mutual friend in South Africa in 2022 and had been together since late that year.
